Common questions
I bought Tessly Plus but it shows as locked
Open Settings → Tessly Plus → Restore Purchases. The subscription belongs to your Apple Account, so it restores on any device signed in to the same Apple Account you used to buy it. The assistant and other server features also need Sign in with Apple in Settings → Account & Sync; the purchase links to that account automatically.
Do I have to pay for Tessly?
No. All daily tracking is free without limits: medications and supplements, reminders, stock and refills, steps, weight, blood pressure, wellbeing, widgets and the food diary. Tessly Plus is an optional auto-renewable subscription, monthly or yearly (the yearly plan has a free trial), for the AI food assistant, encrypted health data sync, cloud food photos, export and share links.
How do I cancel Tessly Plus?
Open the iOS Settings app → your name → Subscriptions → Tessly Plus. The subscription renews unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If it ends, your diary, chat, photos and health history stay in the app.
My reminders are not appearing
Check that notifications are allowed for Tessly in the iOS Settings app, that Focus or Do Not Disturb is not filtering them, and that the item has a reminder time set. Tessly uses local notifications only, so they work without an internet connection.
How do I track weight or body measurements?
Tap +, then Body Measurements. Choose Weight, Waist, Hips, Chest, Upper Arm or Thigh. Log a value and date; choose kg/lb or cm/in. Open a measurement to review its history, edit a manual entry or hide it from Today without deleting its history.
My weight is not importing
Open Weight and tap Connect Apple Health. Weight access is read-only and optional. If no data appears, check weight access for Tessly in the Health app, then tap Update Weight. An empty result can mean there is no available data or no read access. Manual entries remain available and take priority for the same day. Disconnect keeps saved history; Remove Imported History disconnects and removes only the imported copy from Tessly.
My steps are not updating
Tessly reads your daily step count from Apple Health, read-only, and only after you grant permission. Check Health app → Sharing → Apps → Tessly. If you prefer not to grant access, you can log steps manually instead.
Where is my data stored?
Medications, measurements, wellbeing and their logs stay on your iPhone. An account is optional: if you sign in with Apple, your food diary and assistant chat sync through the Tessly server, and with Tessly Plus you can turn on end-to-end encrypted sync of your health data, which our server cannot read. How do I delete my data?
Delete individual items and their history inside the app, or delete Tessly from your iPhone to remove its local database entirely. If you have a Tessly account, delete it in Settings → Account & Sync → Delete account: this removes your synced food diary, photos, chat, weekly reviews, share links and the encrypted health data copy from our server.
Reporting a problem
When something looks wrong, the most useful report includes:
- What you expected and what happened instead
- Your iOS version and iPhone model
- Whether it involves a medication, supplement, measurement, the food diary or the assistant
- Whether privacy mode is on
